Important for readers in India. Indian residents may trade forex only through authorised entities on recognised Indian exchanges, in permitted currency pairs. Trading forex, gold or other CFDs with overseas brokers and sending money abroad for margin is not permitted under FEMA, and the RBI's Alert List names many overseas brokers, including several below (marked On RBI Alert List). This page is for readers where these brokers are licensed to serve them. Check the law where you live before opening an account. CFDs are complex, leveraged products and most retail accounts lose money.

Our verdict

Tickmill is a UK-linked broker offering low raw gold spreads on MetaTrader with a clear commission structure. Clients outside the UK and EU are generally served from its Seychelles entity.

Tickmill was founded in 2014 and operates under FCA regulation in the UK and CySEC in Cyprus, with further licences in South Africa, Dubai, Labuan and the Seychelles. Clients outside the UK and EU, including Indian residents according to ForexBrokers.com, are usually served by Tickmill Ltd in the Seychelles, which offers leverage of up to 1:1000 on gold but no compensation scheme. Tickmill's official XAUUSD page shows a minimum spread of $0.08 and a typical spread of $0.09, and BrokerChooser measured $0.07 in September 2026. The Raw account charges $3 per lot per side, while the Classic account is spread-only, though its gold spread is not published. Positions start at 0.01 lots and go up to 100 lots. Trading is on MT4, MT5, the Tickmill Trader app and, in some regions, TradingView. The minimum deposit is $100, deposits and withdrawals are free, and swap-free accounts are available. Client funds are segregated and negative balance protection applies. Tickmill appears on the RBI Alert List, so Indian residents face the same legal caveat as with most brokers in this comparison.
