Important for readers in India. Indian residents may trade forex only through authorised entities on recognised Indian exchanges, in permitted currency pairs. Trading forex, gold or other CFDs with overseas brokers and sending money abroad for margin is not permitted under FEMA, and the RBI's Alert List names many overseas brokers, including several below (marked On RBI Alert List). This page is for readers where these brokers are licensed to serve them. Check the law where you live before opening an account. CFDs are complex, leveraged products and most retail accounts lose money.

Our verdict

FXTM is an Exinity-owned CFD broker serving mainly emerging-market clients through offshore and Tier-2 entities. Its gold spreads benchmark below average, but its regulatory profile is weaker than Tier-1-led rivals.

FXTM, short for ForexTime, was founded in 2011 and is part of the Exinity group, with its roots in Limassol, Cyprus. It exited retail business in the EU in 2021 and today serves most clients through entities regulated in Mauritius, South Africa, Kenya and the UAE. BrokerChooser still lists an FCA licence, but it was not clear from the sources checked how much of its retail business sits under that entity. For gold, FXTM promotes XAUUSD spreads 'as low as zero' with a commission on its Advantage account; DailyForex puts that commission at $7 per lot, and BrokerChooser measured the gold spread at $0.13 in September 2026. The metals page advertises leverage of up to 1:5000, which is very high and can lead to rapid losses. Trading is on MT4, MT5 and the FXTM Trader app. The minimum deposit is around $200, withdrawals carry a $3 fee, and inactivity fees apply. Negative balance protection and a swap-free option are available, and complaints can go to the Financial Commission, which offers up to EUR 20,000. FXTM is on the RBI Alert List, which Indian residents should factor in.
